A Cut Above’s Annual Christmas TREECYCLE Returns – Supporting Josh’s MLD Journey
On 7th January, the A Cut Above Surrey Ltd team once again took to the roads for our annual Christmas TREECYCLE – a long-standing local initiative that helps residents recycle their real Christmas trees in an environmentally responsible way.

Each year, TREECYCLE provides a simple and sustainable solution for disposing of Christmas trees after the festive season, with all collected trees chipped and recycled rather than sent to landfill. For several years now, we have also invited residents to make voluntary donations alongside their tree collection, with all funds always donated to support Josh and his family.

TREECYCLE 2026 – A Cause Close to Our Hearts

Josh is the son of Bradley, one of our team leaders at A Cut Above Surrey Ltd, which makes this fundraiser especially meaningful to everyone involved. Supporting Josh through TREECYCLE has become a cause that unites our entire team, and one we are proud to stand behind year after year.

Josh is living with Juvenile Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a rare and life-limiting condition. As with previous years, participants in our 2026 TREECYCLE were asked to make a £5 donation per tree, with 100% of proceeds donated directly to Josh’s MLD journey.
A Remarkable Response from the Community

This year, the generosity shown by our local community was truly humbling. Many residents chose to give larger donations, helping to make the fundraiser a significant success with over £3,000 raised this year. The outpouring of support, kind messages, and generosity reinforced just how powerful a community can be when it comes together for a shared cause.

The funds raised will help Josh’s family with ongoing medical needs, as well as enable them to create special memory-making experiences together — moments that are invaluable during such a challenging journey.

Looking Ahead

TREECYCLE continues to represent everything we stand for at A Cut Above Surrey Ltd. It reflects our commitment to caring for the environment, supporting our people and local community, and coming together to make a genuine difference where it matters most. We are incredibly proud of what this annual event has become and look forward to continuing this tradition in the years ahead, always in support of Josh and his family.
